4 Star Review Maytag PuriClean Filter

Strengths:

Easy installation; works; water tastes good!

Weaknesses:

Expensive!

Posted 1 year ago - We just completed a kitchen remodel, and purchased a new Amana fridge. Even though we have a whole house filtration system, my wife was really up on making the water also "taste good"! I'm a big fan of cold water to drink, so I enjoy the convenience of the water spout in the fridge. The was does indeed taste great, so the filter does it's job. We have been in the house a year, so replaced the filter. Installation was a snap. Wish there was a way to recycle the old filter, as I hate to throw it in the trash. 4 Star Review Puriclean 2 UKF8001AXX

Strengths:

Removes a very high amount (96%+) of most water contaminates.

Weaknesses:

On some herbicides, it removes only 76%, on others it doesnt remove any.

Posted 1 year ago - We purchased a new refrigerator that uses this filter a year ago. I have been very happy with how it works, and how long it lasts. The recommendations state that you should change the filter every six months, or when the change filter light comes on - whichever comes first. We waited for the light - and it just came on. My only wish would be that it filtered more herbicides since we live in a farming community.
