Strengths: easily handles 6 pair of jeans vs 4 in my old super duty top loader, very quiet,
Weakness: loads take maybe 20 minutes longer to run and the detergent tray drips just a little untill drawer is closed
I read a lot of reviews and was very nervous about buying a Duet but went ahead after doing a lot of price comparison. Purchased the washer for only $499 at the end of January 2011 and so far am very, very happy. I will get a tax rebate of $100 and already got back a $50 mfr. rebate making the actual cost only $349. Strengths: Capacity, Ease of Use, Very Clean Clothes, Economical
Weakness: No Quick Cycle, Regular Wash cycle takes 1 hour 12 minutes to complete BUT the clothes do come much cleaner than my old Kenmore Front Loader got them.
My new Whirlpool is great. I can fit huge loads in ( I have 6 children - on a farm) and the clothes come super clean. After owing a Kenmore front loader that shook the house I'm really happy at the smooth and relatively quiet high speed spin. The operation is simple enough that even my 6 year old can put in a wash load. My only gripe is that there isn't a "quick cycle" which I did use quite often...
