Strengths: Very quiet, sanitize cycle, energy efficient, spin cycle removes enough water to reduce time in the dryer
Weakness: Nothing
I have always hated laundry, but not so much now. Ive been using this for 5 months and it has cleaned everything I've crammed into it. I like being able to wash comforters and blankets without them getting wrapped around a center pole or stuck under the agitator. With a very bad flu season in full swing it has been nice to have a sanitize cycle to get sheets, pillows and cases, and blankets...
Strengths: Water efficiency, pretty looking, easy to use
Weakness: longer cycle
We've had this machine for a couple of months and couldn't be more pleased. It uses just enough water for the particular load and will wash most anything and get it clean. This machine is very quiet, too! I can go to sleep as it washes a load and not worry about it being unbalanced. It balances the load itself by turning one way and then the other until the load is ready for the full spin cycle...
Strengths: Quiet. Ease of use.
Weakness: Lack of reversible door.
Extremely quiet operation. My wife loves the ease of use. It was a bit difficult to adjust the legs for leveling, but overall we are happy with the appliance. Our only wish is that the door was reversible the way the matching electric clothes dryer is. Due to where our venting and draining is located, we were not able to achieve an optimally convenient configuration.
Strengths: Quiet, uses much less water, great job cleaning clothes
Weakness: Cycle time a little long
I've been using this machine for two weeks now and I love it. It's extremely quiet, very water efficient, and does a great job cleaning clothes. It has a plethora of pre-set options available and you're able to set your own. The only downside so far is the cycle time is a little longer, but it doesn't matter much to me, but is something to be aware of if you're in the market.
I am currently in the market for a new washer and dryer and was really set on buying this new LG WM0642HW washer, until I found out that these, and all other LG washers are NOT designed to be placed upstairs, but rather, downstairs. Word has come from LG directly to retailers to inform potential customers that "at this time LG doesn't recommend their line of washers to be placed upstairs for...
Strengths: Looks smooth operation nice clean clothes lots of options
Weakness: None that i know of.
We moved into our first home and were looking for a front loading washer dryer combo. This was one of the few entry level combinations that was available in multiple stores. I was seeing that different stores (like Sears, Home Depot, Frys, Lowes etc) each sell different brands. I found this available in Home Depot, Frys and Lowes making it easier for me to price shop. Another incentive were the...
Strengths: Quiet, looks nice
Weakness: smell, not enough water in cycle, cleans poorly, poor customer service dept.
I have had this model for 1 year now and I have found it to be a huge dissappointment. The washer doesn't use enough water in my opinion and leaves clothes dirty unless you wash a very small load. I have noticed a LARGE decrease in efficiency during the year.
Strengths: quiet and multiple wash times
Weakness: N/A
I had this unit since march 2007 and I was just told that my circuit board was going and needed to be replaced, thus I need to wait a week before the tech and part comes in. I am not happy. The tech began to tell me how LG products are not good and tells all his customers to stay away! I am not a happy person, sitting here with a pit in my stomach. I have heard many good things about this product...
Strengths: Very quiet, can wash very large loads, stylish, top controls are great
Weakness: Normal cycle is 1 hour long, clothes don't seem as clean when you have a full load, door gets in the way
This LG washer is a lot more stylish than the other brands. And since the control is uniquely on the top, it is so much easier to see and set it without bending over. The first time I used it, I just sat in front of it being fascinated at the smoothness of the washing. There is very little noise and no vibration at all. I wanted to do a stain and soil cycle to get my clothes extra clean, but the...

Big capacity washer that can't handle a large load.
Strengths: Quiet, effecient, very clean clothes.
Weakness: Motor faults anytime you put a large load in it.
Large loads (not "full capacity") will fault the motor. You have to unplug the washer for a few minutes to continue. In itself, that may not be too bad, but LG's technicians tell me that it's normal.
