Description
As a member of our latest generation of robots, the iRobot Roomba 570 Vacuum Cleaning Robot features the newest innovations for dramatically improved performance, reliability and durability. On-board scheduling allows you to preset up to seven cleaning times per week for Roomba to clean when it's most convenient for you â€" whether you're at home or on the go. Roomba systematically cleans four rooms on a single charge, gets into hard-to-reach areas like wall edges and beneath furniture while avoiding stairs and other drop-offs. Roomba automatically adjusts from carpets to hard floors and back again. Each Virtual Wall Lighthouse (2 included) confines Roomba to one room until the entire floor is vacuumed before Roomba moves on to the next room. When its battery is running low, or when the cleaning is complete, Roomba automatically returns to the self-charging Home Base to dock and recharge. You can even control, steer and schedule Roomba remotely using the Wireless Command Center.

Strengths: Quieter and gentler that previous models, very solid construction.
Weakness: I haven't found one yet, but it has only been a month.
I'll be honest here - I'm a huge Roomba fan. I've had them for several years and continue to be pleased with the upgrades in features on this model (most of my comparisons relate to the Scheduler). Compared to previous models, this one runs quieter and the unit slows down before colliding with objects (it is much easier on furniture). The mulit-armed side brush is more effective than the...
The iRobot Roomba series of vacuum cleaners revolutionized the way people vacuumed, making it more of a passive chore than an active necessity. The automated robotic vacuum allows people to schedule their vacuuming as its convenient for them and ensures a clean floor upon return home from work or a day out. The newest vacuums in the iRobot line are the 500 series, with the pinnacle being the 570....

IRobot strikes gold! Mine instantly paid for itself!
Strengths: Works with RF signal transmission, doesn't get tangled in rug tassles, schedules for when you want it to run, longer run-time
Weakness: Battery is not user serviceable as in previous models.
The first "strength" (RF commands) is the greatest new feature with "not getting stuck on rug tassles" coming in second. Using the new scheduler, you don't have to be anywhere near the Roomba 570 to control any of its features. I also have a Roomba 4260 and a Dirt Dog, both of which require line of sight communication using an infra-red controller. Using the included "lighthouses", set to...
