Strengths: I love this product because I have Hard Wood Floors and Tile throughout my house. It does a fantastic job cleaning the floors, much better than a standard mop plus it is more sanitary.
Weakness: They it cannot clean on its own.
If you have alot of hard surfaces in your home, then you need this product. I use mine several times per week and there is nothing else like it. I have tries other products but this cleaner puts all of the rest to shame. It does an excellent job cleaning my floors. I disagree with the other comments that state that it will not pick up stubborn spills or messes. I have a 6 year old and a 2 year...
Strengths: Easy to use in dry pickup mode. Makes tile floors shine in wet mode.
Weakness: Automatic shutoff mechanism kicks in continually. Detail tools ineffective and awkward to put together.
I had the lower model Floor Mate (SpinScrub 500, I think) for a year or two and absolutely loved it. I bought the SpinScrub 800 (considerably more expensive) for the wider cleaning path, the grout brushes, and the detail tools. I was bitterly disappointed. Although it still does a great job of cleaning my tile floors, it is much more difficult to use. The main problem is the "prettier" angled...
Strengths: Does an excellent job in the wash/wet pick up mode. Spin brushes are very effective.
Weakness: Dry vacuum mode lacks the ability to pick up anything but dirt and hair.
Living in the desert with five pets requires a system that can perform miracles. The Hoover SpinScrub does an excellent job cleaning the floors but lacks suction in the dry mode; small granules of kitty litter were just pushed around. Having read the reviews I was unsure how our kitchen floor would turn out. All I can say is that it looks great and there was NO scrubbing on my part. I’m not...
Strengths: Scrubbing Brushes, Dual Tanks
Weakness: Loud, Leaves streaks after cleaning
This cleaner is a good vacuum for dry surfaces because it doesn't have a roller to throw things around. Its also very good at cleaning tiles and grout, BUT needs weight put on the front end for the brushes to really scrub well. Until I put a foot on the front to press down over the brushes it wasn't doing a good job cleaning heavily soiled areas. But when it did clean them, the grout was like...
Strengths: Picks up dirt well in dry mode. Scrubs the floor nicely.
Weakness: Loses suction while in the wet cleaning mode and in the wet suction mode.
The hoover floormate spinscrub 800 works very well for picking up dirt, dust, and pet hair. The vacuum also does a terrific job of scrubing the floor, however, it does seem to "lose suction" while in the wet modes. Overall, I guess that it makes cleaning hard floors very easy. I did not like having to shut the vacuum off and turn it back on everytime it lost suction though.
Strengths: Does use clean water and cleans. Never use dirty water to mop again.
Weakness: The dry pick up doesn’t work very well. The floormate doesn’t have a high clearance, so it won’t pick up things like cheerios. It just doesn’t scrub at all.
I had extremely high hopes for this machine. I have wood floors throughout the house and tile in the bathroom, kitchen and a huge sun porch. I also have 3 cats and a 17 month old baby. I work full time, our house is a fixer upper and as I mentioned, I have a baby. So I was looking for something to clean my house and save me some time (without hiring a maid). So to start out with, yes, this does...
Strengths: simple to put together and take apart, works on all types of flooring, attractive appliance, great attachments!
Weakness: seems to jam often; requires extra effort and leaves muddy tracks on really dirty floors
i am disabled and SICK of hubby's idea of "housecleaning" so ordered this in hopes my house (with all new hardwood floors) might actually look clean - after watching it sit in its box for a week or so, i finally tackled it myself - and was amazed at how simple it is to put together and operate and what a great job it actually does, at least on tiled floors; those have never looked better! i did...
Strengths: Dries the floor after cleaning it
Weakness: Vacuum power, leaks when not in use, difficult to get the right "groove"
I have wanted one of these for quite along time. My mom found a great deal online and offered to pay for part of it as a birthday gift. (like appliances should be gifts! my bad, not her's. she knew i had wanted one and couldn't afford it o n my own) Anyhow, my Bissel hard floor vac finally died after 3 years, so I went for this. What a waste. The vacuum lacks power, and because of the squeegee on...
Strengths: Drys floor after washing. Picks up dirt that mop would leave.
Weakness: Tank capacity seems too small, causing frequent emptying and re-filling of solutions. Suction can accidently stop when dirty water canister gets near full.
We've used the machine about a dozen times over 3 months to clean both tile and wood floors. It does what it is supposed to do, and pretty well. Hoover says to use its own cleaning solution. We generally do. But we have also used a diluted clorox and soap solution. That works well too. We were pleased to see that the brush/vacume combination picked up the dirt and particles that inevitably get...

Maid for Me
Strengths: Does what it's supposed to
Weakness: It's not human
This machine saves me time, not to mention my back. It's not as good as having a maid but close. I find as a maintenance tool it performs great. You need to use a heavier vacuum to clean up large or heavy dirt before using and I cleaned the corners myself the first time and now only do that about once a month. It's so much easier than the mop and bucket brigade. I find if you go slowly over the...
