This is an easy install.
Strengths: What more can you say. It does its job. It makes ice!
Weakness: None.
Even the weekend "less-than-handyman" can install this. The instructions are very clear and the installation seemed to take very little time. Do not be afraid to be a do-it-yourselfer on this project. The unit works great and the self installation saved a lot of $$$. I bought it online for $26 plus shipping.

Easy project for anyone
Strengths: Took 15 minutes to swap out the old and install the new
Weakness: NONE!
I was a little worried about trying this myself. Sears wanted over $150 to do this. After looking it over, I decided to give this a shot. I was shocked how quickly I was able to take out the old parts and install the new parts. I changed both the water valve and the ice maker without much hassle and my water and ice have returned to flowing the way they did when the refrig was new. If you have a...

Nice to Have Ice!
Strengths: Started freezing ice immediately after installation.
Weakness: You need to buy and install a water line to your freezer if you don't already have one.
It took us nearly 3 hours to install a copper tubing line from our sink to the freezer and then to install the ice-maker. They recommend using copper - not the plastic tubing, but the price of the copper tubing kit is more than twice that of the plastic.

COOL RUNNINS
Strengths: Last long and works with ease
Weakness: need to alter the wiring a bit to fit my fridge
Was the most inexpensive al tered the wiring a bit for my GE fridge but has worked well since 2004 giong to get another one just now coating in ice tray starting to come off still making ice though

Great Icemaker
Strengths: Easy to follow instructions. Easy installtion. Fast start- up and cycle time.
Weakness: none.
Kit included all the parts to make an installation on a freezer that never had an icemaker including parts for model variations. Instructions were clear and easy to follow with excellent illustrations. I completed the installation in less than one hour. It said it might take up to 24 hours to begin making ice but in that time I had a full bucket.
