Just bought one of these to replace out old standard but dead Carousel microwave. The mounting plate is nearly exactly the same which eased installation a bit. In fact, I was almost tempted to just use the old mounting plate but the new one had extra foamy bits but it was only a 5 minute job to swap them anyway. The rest of the installation went hyper smooth. I wasn't too happy that this model...
Strengths: Convection feature is wonderful, especially mounted in a motorhome.
Weakness: This is our THIRD model #1870. The first one came with the motorhome and blew out under warranty. The second one lasted only 4 years. Can't find another brand that will fit the space constraints
We have a Sharp Carrousel microwave in our home and have used it successfully for 14 years. Thus, I have confidence in the brand. Since we have now replaced two Sharp convection/microwaves in the motorhome, we tried to find a different brand that would fit the specific location provided over the range. No luck. Strengths: Easy to install. I replaced an existing Sharp microwave of the same size and it only took a little over an hour to remove one and install the new one. The microvwave also has a convection oven feature which appears very functional but we are just not us

Especially if you are replacing an existing Sharp microwave of this same size (and even if you aren't) this is a very good buy which is easy to install. Just be sure and correctly place the wall mounting template sheet to be sure any existing holes in your sheetrock can be used, or if you need to drill new ones.
