Probably the Best of the Bunch

Strengths: Appearance, microwave wattage, ease of use, whisper quiet compared to GE Profile that it replaced. Cooks evenly. Much faster preheating than either the GE or Sharp.

Weakness: Lacks second oven rack found in most other brands, useless automated cooking programs, turntable hub permanently installed- cannot be replaced by user, dim light, dials instead of number pad.

This is my third convection microwave and with each purchase I am learning more... like how there are only a couple of actual manufacturers and every other brand is just sticking their name on it. My god-awful GE Profile was actually a Gold Star (LG or whatever name they operate under these days). This is my third convection microwave and with each purchase I am learning more... like how there are only a couple of actual manufacturers and every other brand is just sticking their name on it. My god-awful GE Profile was actually a Gold Star (LG or whatever name they operate under these days). That unit cost as much in repairs as it did to purchase.Reviewers on other sites have noted that the exterior gets very hot when using convection and while it is considerably hotter than the GE or Sharp it's not dangerously hot. One feature that all manufacturers seem to have dropped is the built-in temperature probe for roasting. Both my GE and Sharp units had problems with that feature and I suspect that across-the-board reliability problems resulted in its demise but when it worked it was terrific.Ceramic turntable cleans up very easily. Large capacity far more convenient than my old GE Profile.
