It works.

Strengths: fine-grained evaporant

Weakness: noise

Vicks works as it promised with fine-grained water evaporant.

A full tank of water lasts about 10 hours at least.

The very noticible noise is a problem for this product.

Weakness: To fill up need to detach and overturn Tank to refill water Demineralization filter gave trouble after 2 days

Nice compact unit.Its silent and doesn't disturb anybody's sleep. Visible mist so you know it is working.Also the transparent tank shows you how much water is left. Filling the tank is a pain as you need to detach the tank and overturn it as the inlet is at the bottom. The Demineralization filter is suspect I think or my tap water is really bad as it prevented mist from comming out the second day...

The Demineralization filter is suspect I think or my tap water is really bad as it prevented mist from comming out the second day after I bought it. So the option are either replace it or used distilled water !!!! It works fine without the filter.

Don't buy this

Strengths: Quiet - efficient.

Weakness: Short lived

I bought this unit and it worked well for four weeks and then died. I brought it back to CVS and they replaced with a new one. The new one worked well until it, too, died after about five weeks. I brought it back to the store and got my money back.

Too much moisture

Strengths: Mist can be directed and somewhat adjusted, long duration without refill, low hum noise can actually be soothing.

Weakness: Gets everything too wet. Room felt excessively humid even at the lowest setting. The amount of mist in the room set off the smoke detector.

I used this in my child's nursery on and off for a year now. It definitely works, but works too well. Even at the lowest setting it makes everything in the room feel "sticky". I felt like I needed to dry out the room after running it all night. There was so much moisture in the air that it set off the smoke detector. I am actually looking for a cheaper less effective product. This may be better...

I used this in my child's nursery on and off for a year now. It definitely works, but works too well. Even at the lowest setting it makes everything in the room feel "sticky". I felt like I needed to dry out the room after running it all night. There was so much moisture in the air that it set off the smoke detector. I am actually looking for a cheaper less effective product. This may be better suited for a large room as opposed to a small nursery. I spent too much money on it to throw it away. I too use it without the filter but fill it with distilled water.

humidifier

Strengths: very quiet....large tank lasts through the night

Weakness: demineralization cartrdiges are expensive and don't seem to last long keeping the dust or microorganizms from coming into the air. Very hard to keep clean and the white dust builds up inside easily

my motor went out about 3 months after buying it.....not happy with the product at all.....expensive cartridges to replace every 30 days.......very hard to clean and dust generally builds up everywhere inside easily. It does keep a full tank through the night though.
