Good Dryer but ...

Strengths: Large drum, a cycle for every situation, quiet

Weakness: Sensor accuracy, LP conversion process and cost

We purchased this unit with its washer counterpart 4 months ago at Home Depot. The shame of it is that while we've been able to wash clothes for 4 months, we've only been able to dry them for 3 months. We have liquid propane here in FL and the conversion from natural to LP on this unit is absolutely hellacious. The associate at Home Depot said that installation for gas appliances wasn't covered by their "free delivery & install" offer but that the conversion jet was less than $20 and installation would be a snap. Right! You MUST have two things for a successful conversion and install: an authorized LG gas appliance technician for the actual conversion and then, a gas company employee to hook up and test the line. In our case, no single company could do both and installation/conversion cost us over $300. LG will not let regular people order the conversion part because of liability reasons. You have to arrange with your gas company to order the piece (ours didn't have a way to order/charge us for it in their normal billing so I had to give them my credit card number up front) and it took us almost 2 weeks to get the part. Then we had to make an appointment for the service technician to come out (nearly a week delay). The conversion involves removing the drum from the unit and took a fair amount of time. Then we had 3 service calls because the drum wasn't re-installed perfectly and affected how the sensors were reading the loads. It was an absolute nightmare and I was really angry that I had a thousand dollar dryer in my laundry room but was having to take wet clothes to a neighbors to dry. It literally was a month after the initial delivery that we were able to take clothes from washer to dryer and be relatively assured of having dry stuff to wear! Now that it's working OK, I mostly like the machine a lot. Sometimes I find that I have to dry loads more than one cycle, particularly towels and jeans. The sensor turns off the heat but most times, the items are still pretty damp. Another cycle fixes that but takes time and gas, which isn't cheap!

Nice Dryer

Strengths: Looks nice; tons of controls

Weakness: Expensive

I purchased this along with the matching steam washer, as we were remodelling, and needed to conserve some floor space. The stacking option was a nice way to get a high-end washer/dryer pair without sacrificing features (like those cheapie apartment stackable washer/dryer combos). I've only used it a couple of times, and have been more than satisfied. I honestly don't know what I am going to do...

LOVE my LG dryer!!!

Strengths: quiet, fast drying, auto sensor

Weakness: price

It may not have a big digital display & remote control option as WM2688 but the overall functions are the same. With it's big capacity of 7.3 cu. ft., it can fit and dry my oversize queen comforter. However, I did turn the comforter in between so that it'll dry thoroughly by end of the cycle. I've yet to try and let it be (I'll update my review later). I LOVE my LG Gas Dryer!

Strengths: Ease of use, very quiet and doesn't wrinkle clothes.

Weakness: None!

I purchased this dryer along with the matching washer. If you did get the matching washer make sure the washer is installed on the left and the dryer on the right. That way the doors don't swing into each other and is more efficient for you to load your clothes from the washer to the dryer. I can't tell you how pleased I am with the performance of this dryer!
